Background
This year, even after major cuts, the PTO is planning on spend $55,000 on activities, events, supplies, and field trips for the kiddos at Lakewood Elementary School. These funds are above and beyond what the school receives from the district.
Prior to the pandemic, the PTO collected these funds through a annual auction event like this one. And as a Title 1 school in which over 31% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunches, Lakewood’s student body experiences a broad range of inequity of opportunity that the PTO works hard to remediate.
The impact from last year can be measured in…
- 8 free events
- 19 field trips
- 818 student experiences
- 11,320 dollars in teacher & staff supplies
- 52,547 total dollars raised and spent last year alone
Featured Items collected so far
- An Electric Lawn Mower
- UofM tickets to Football, Hockey, & Baseball games!
- Birthday Party Packages
- Hotel Stays
- Monthly Bin-Refill from Lego Bricks & Minifigs
- $50 gift card to Hands On Museum
- Tickets for Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase
- Drink Tasting at Blom Mead & Cider
- Glass making class at Glass Academy
- Tickets to the Toledo Zoo
- and more to come…
